Rotarian Declaration for World Peace

We the Rotarians of the World:

- Are committed to peace and understanding among all nations.
- Work together with the United Nations in humanitarian action.
- Believe in international law as an indispensable tool to achieve peace.
- Serve our community in order to weave a broad network of friendship and world solidarity

Therefore, we the Rotarians attending 4th paragraph of our object ¹, make this

DECLARATION

As citizens of the world, we proclaim that we stand for ‘’ the strengthening of the United Nations’’ with the objective that this noble organization, which was born in 1945 with the strong support of Rotary International, can achieve the effectiveness required in order to realize the following goals.

First – Fulfillment of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights throughout the world in order to recognize the dignity of all human beings.

Second – Effective protection of environment in general, with priority to actions and programs for clean air and water for all.

Third – Sustainable development in all countries and the growth they need in order to reduce unhealthy conditions, hunger and illiteracy, for all peoples.

Fourth – Cooperation and commitment of all nations to put into effect, principles and values of the rule of law as an effective instrument for living in peace and to fulfill the Fourth Object of Rotary.

Meeting our commitment of humanitarian service linked to universal ideals for world peace, we invite you, fellow Rotarians, to join in this DECLARATION by signing below.
